A letter from a sister to her beloved brother - sending hope in times of utter hopelessness!
**************************************************
Baba,
Happy Sankranti. Happy Uttarayana- Northbound direction of Sun. Very auspicious. Time to invite spring-new beginnings into life.
How are you doing?
I have been thinking about you from sometime now. It gives me immense joy to know that you are there doing your best at the best of your capability.
Here, I am checking with you -
- How are your thoughts, off-late?
- Are they guided by peace or hatred?
- How do you sleep? Any dreams or nightmares?
- What is the 1st thing that awaits you, greets you- in your mind as you awoke?
- What is the emotion, the feeling in your heart just before you drift off into sleep most nights?
- What is your physical body telling you? Tightness, soreness, too uptight? When was the last time you listened to that, closely?
Less than a year ago, my life was still in a huge mess, nothing to be displayed on the outside (like yours currently), but so broken like a million pieces from inside. Pulled between existential questions (who I am, what am I here for ) and basic means of living in a template that society has created (career, marriage, family) I was torn, tossed and landed on my butt, broke my head, broke my heart, many a times. Was crazy. Was suicidal. Medications for Depression, Anxiety, innumerable sessions of therapy- nobody said life would come with a guidebook, nobody said life was unpredictable. It is.
Indeed it goes back to 5th-6th standard and the series continues episode after episode from one to another till I realized that NOTHING can be ever achieved thru hatred/resentment/bitterness/ disgust/revenge . I have had felt all these towards friends/parents/siblings/
These details I am only sharing with you because I want to tell you I understand there is pain, there is hurt, there is injustice. But this isn’t the END. It is just another BEGINNING for something better, something so much worthwhile only possible because of this phase of your life.
Each being comes into existence with certain karmas and hence we are born as what we are, where we are born and who we are.
Below is a snapshot on 3 different Karmas-
1. Sanchitta. This is accumulated past actions or karmas waiting to come to fruition. ...
2. Parabda. This is the present action: what you are doing now, in this lifetime and its result.
3. Agami. Future actions that result from your present actions are called agami karma.
Karma means “action” all actions – good, neutral, bad, evil. You see Sanchitta is definitely NOT in our hands, what we can undeniably mould are Parabda.. and Agami. What are you doing here? How are your actions?
Time has come for YOU to accept what is, acceptance doesn’t mean we lose, it only sets the tone for next steps to MOVE FORWARD. The intention behind the action defines karma –
All the people who imparted their evil deeds onto you will be greeted with what they exactly deserve. And with interest. This, I promise. While we want to keep proceeding towards betterment of our ownselves, it is VERY crucial that you set an intention for GOOD and not in the direction of hate/anger. Focus on good things to come, medications for the little one, your own life blooming again, so much happiness is awaiting you with 10 Thousand eyes, if only you see this path exist, notice that there is more than darkness everywhere.
Sankalpa Shakti - we set from
our heart and can be translated
to higher truth (san) and vow
(kalpa). Sankalpa is a promise
to stay with our highest truth and
to act from our hearts.
A Sankalpa
can be set as a positive affirmation
that we state to ourselves in
in order to align the heart, mind and soul
in order to reach our dharma and
highest path. When we practice
setting intentions we harness
Sankalpa Shakti which is a
power within that helps us
manifest our Sankalpa
